Verna O’Neill has worked for CF Sunrise since 2006. With a business degree and background in small business consulting, Verna became General Manager in August 2013. “Sunrise works with entrepreneurs in the region to find solutions to their business challenges. We focus on business loans and advisory services - both are key to the development of the southeast. All of the work I do has the end goal of assisting businesses in their growth and success.”

Verna and her family have lived in Weyburn since 2003, and they actively participate in the community through their volunteerism and support of local organizations. “The southeast is a great place to start and grow your business and your family!”

Teresa LaFoy joined CF Sunrise in October 2013 as our Business Lender. Teresa has 20 years of lending and banking experience, and has always placed great importance on customer service and assisting clients to achieve success. “One of the most exciting aspects of working at CF Sunrise is seeing the growth opportunities in southeast Saskatchewan. I enjoy helping new entrepreneurs turn their business ideas into reality and assisting existing businesses with growth and expansion opportunities”

Teresa and her husband grew up in Weyburn, moved away briefly and then returned to the city about nine years ago. "Weyburn and southeast Saskatchewan is a wonderful area to raise a family. It's great to see business thrive in the southeast, and add such tremendous value to the communities in the region."

Marion-ScottMarion Scott, Bookkeeper

Marion Scott joined CF Sunrise in August of 2011. Her past experience in office administration, customer service and bookkeeping serve CF Sunrise well as she is primarily involved with the record-keeping for CF Sunrise.  "Our family has a long history in farming and business ownership, so that entrepreneurial background and knowledge helps me.”

Marion lives in Halbrite with her husband Dale. Her sons continue to own and operate the family farm in the Radville area, and her daughter lives in Weyburn. “We enjoy being close to our children and grandchildren, and are happy to see the many opportunities for growth in the region.” 

Christina Birch Christina Birch, Regional Economic Development Coordinator

Christina Birch joined CF Sunrise in July 2019 as our Regional Economic Development Coordinator. With a background in community economic development, Christina is committed to assisting businesses and communities in southeast Saskatchewan as they continue to develop. “Working in community economic development is my passion. I enjoy meeting and working with business owners and community leaders who are committed to working towards a better future.” Christina works hard to connect with stakeholders in the region, assessing what is needed to support them during the transition to a low-carbon economy. 

Christina and her family have lived in southeast Saskatchewan since 2009. “Rural Saskatchewan is a great place to raise a family and grow a business. With so many diverse opportunities for growth, I’m happy to be part of a team that contributes to our region’s continued development.”

Andria has been involved as a volunteer with CF Sunrise since 2004 and has always had a keen interest in making SE Sask a great place to do business.

She joined the organization as the Regional Economic Development Coordinator in 2020 and looks forward to working more closely with businesses and communities in the southeast. With a background in non profit and social enterprise management, she is committed to promoting entrepreneurship and assisting with growth and development of the communities, businesses and organizations in the region. She has always been a proponent of using technology to advance business engagement as well.

Andria grew up on the family farm near Weyburn and she and her husband have recently returned to their rural roots near the city, and run a business of their own on the side. “Both of our parents were business owners for the majority of their working lives, and family members continue to operate businesses so I feel like this is a natural fit. I have always considered CF Sunrise to be an integral part of business success.”
